Mittens - The Original Thicc Mitt by Rachael.
Wool-free, super warm, crocheted mittens that will actually keep your hands warm.
They are thick.
They are warm.
They are soft.
And they fit just like a ... glove. hehehe.
Because they're wool-free, they're also machine wash and dryable, and they won't shrink or stretch out on you!
Current record for the longest pair that is actively in rotation: They've been going strong since 2012. You can do the math.
Sizing: If you want the easy answer:
99% of those that identify as female between the ages of 12 and 112 find that the standard medium fits them quite well. If the word Loose is after the size... it just means it's a little looser fitting because of the yarn!
If you think you have "small" hands... the medium should do just fine as well.
If you have a wide or large palm... or something that resembles a baseball glove (like myself)... medium will do you just fine. They'll slightly stretch to fit your hand. The more you wear - the quicker that happens. Just wash them to have them "snap back" to their original state!
99% of those with nails longer than their fingers include the nail length in the measurement. Otherwise you will have claws. Don't do that. You're not Wolverine.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HAND TO FIGURE OUT YOUR SIZE:
You can either use a measuring tape that's floppy and bendy, or a string with a ruler! Or you can just use your best guess.
I made a pretty little picture for you to help you - check out product photos!
PLEASE PROVIDE IN CENTIMETERS, and round to the nearest .0 or .5.
- Measure the length of your hand - From the tip of the longest finger, down to the top of the wrist. Make sure the ENTIRE palm of the hand is included in this measurement, When in doubt.. size down. Trust me. If you have nails: consider those as part of your finger when taking your measurements!
- Measure the width of your hand - all the way around, just above where your thumb connects.
- Now imagine that last measurement was a line. I need to know the length from that "line", to the tip of the longest finger.
- Back to the thumb, I need to know how long that bad boy is!
Use measurements 2 and 3 to determine which fit would be best for you. I recommend sizing down if you're in between... or just go with my standard medium... they're kind of like the jeans from sisterhood of the travelling pants... they somehow magically fit everyone!
